Project Void is an MMORPG you play entirely over ssh. No client, no launcher, no browser plugin — your terminal is the game. Your machine is your character. The world is a sprawl of networks you find your way into: home routers, ISPs, corporate VPNs, research labs, the finance department's staging box nobody ever secured.

There is no combat. Progress comes from real-feeling IT work: reading logs, following breadcrumbs across machines, fixing (or exploiting) misconfigured services, cracking a password left in a history file, standing up services under time pressure. If you've ever enjoyed a CTF, or actually work in this field, you already know the moves.

• Quests — discovery-driven: most aren't handed to you, they're found by reading what's lying around on the machines you already have access to.
• Jobs & tickets — repeatable side work between quests, and an endless helpdesk-ticket grind for whenever you just want XP.
• voidlang — a small C-like language of its own. Prefer writing code to breaking into things? vgcc compiles and tests it.
• Skills — recon, networking, sysadmin, coding. Grown by doing, not by picking a build.
• Trace — every loud action heats you up. Get caught and you're ejected home, locked out for a while.
• Other runners — a shared, real-time world. chat, tell, and the occasional job that genuinely needs two people.
